Introduction to Cables

Skill level: Intermediate
Skills required: Cast on, knit, purl
Materials required: Worsted weight yarn, US size 7 needles, a cable needle

In this class, you will learn the basics of knitting cables as well as some tips and tricks for knitting them quickly and effectively. Cables are a process of switching the stitches on then eedles to create basic and intricate designs in your knitting. The class will introduce you to how cables are made as well as how to read cables in written-out and charted format in a pattern.
From tips for creating cables simply and quickly to learning how to “read” the yarn and the pattern to best eliminate mistakes, this class will teach you both basic and intermediate techniques for creating cables in your work.
