Class: Intro to Hand Painted Yarn

Dye your own yarn just in time for the holidays with our Intro to Hand Painted Yarn class. In this class you will learn about how fiber and dye come together to make your own unique colorway. Hand painted refers to applying the dye by hand rather than submerge the yarn into a dye bath. This class will include a little color theory and fiber knowledge, but is more geard towards those who want to have fun and get a little messy. Skeins will be pre-soaked in mordant and ready to go for class when you arrive, but you will need to pay for your yarn at the counter. This class is super beginner friendly so wear some clothes you don't mind getting stained, grab a friend and make something special. The last half hour of class will be mostly steam-setting the yarn so feel free to bring a knit project to work on or socialize. We will be working outside so wear weather appropriate clothing. You will go home with a skein of slightly damp yarn so plan to hang it to dry when you get home. Who's ready to play with color?
