Class: Learn to Knit Cables with Cora's Cabled Hat!

Level: Intermediate / Advanced Beginner

Pre-Requisite Skills: Before signing up for this class, students must already know how to cast-on, knit and purl, and knit in the round.

Are you intimidated by cables? There's no need to be! Cables are fun and easy to learn. This class will get you started with a fun and simple hat. By the end of the project you'll be a cabling pro.

For class you will need your pattern, yarn, 16" circular needle, and cable needle of choice. The rest of the materials will be needed to complete your project but do not need to be purchased in advance.

Before Class: Cast on 100 stitches, join in the round, and knit 1 purl 1 ribbing for about 2 inches

Materials:

Urth 16 Worsted - 1 Skein (100g = 220 yds)

Fur Pompom or make your own!

US 7 16” circular needles and 1 set US 7 dpns

1 cable needle or Flox Multi-Tool

1 tapestry needle

Stitch marker(s): At least one for beginning of round, option to add 12 more

Copy of the Cora's Cabled Hat Pattern (free)

Homework : Cast on 100 stitches, join in the round, and knit 1 purl 1 ribbing for about 2 inches - approximately 14 rows. (If you want a longer fold up brim, knit more ribbing, You may need a second skein of yarn depending on the depth of your brim and the gauge of your knitting.)

Due to the continued lower risks of Covid-19, at this time we are not currently requiring vaccination to attend classes, however, if Austin re-enters Medium or High Risk guidelines you will be asked to either present a proof of vaccination, or provide a negative covid test to attend classes/camps. Although we are not requiring proof of vaccination at this time, you may still be asked to mask during class times if you are unvaccinated to accommodate any higher risk students or teachers.

CLASS REGISTRATION & CANCELLATION

1. If you would prefer to sign-up over the phone, call HCW at 707-7396 with credit card information to secure a spot.
2. There is a $2 cancellation fee. A 5-day notice is required for cancellation without additional penalty. Cancellations made within 5 days of a class are subject to a 50% class charge. Cancellations made the day of class and no-shows are not refundable.
3. Classes may be canceled in the event of insufficient sign-ups (less than 3 students) - if we cancel a class you will be notified the week before by phone & will be given a full refund.
