Instructor: Ana Clerc
Level: Beginner / Advanced Beginner
Mosaic knitting is a wonderfully simple way to make ornate 2-color designs in knitting.  Using only one color at a time, you can make labyrinthine swirls, densely patterned blocks, and delicate mosaic images without the floats found in stranded knitting.  Come join instructor Ana Clerc in an exploration of this immensely satisfying technique that makes intricate patterns super simple to execute.

What you will learn:
Students will learn how to to slip stitches to create color shifts in a row, how to carry yarn between rows, how to read and design their own mosaic knitting charts

What you need to know:
Students must be comfortable with casting on, knitting, purling, casting off, and knitting in the round.

What you will make:
Students will be making a small cuff that can be used as a bracelet.  Further recommendations for patterns using this technique will be listed in the class handouts.
Materials:
2 contrasting colors of worsted weight yarn, preferably wool, 50 yards of each color.  You will want a definite difference between the light and dark color.
Size 7 dpns, or your preferred needles for working a small object in the round.
One stitch marker

Class handouts and pattern will be provided by the instructor.
