Pay What You Can - Support How You Can - BLACK LIVES MATTER

June 3 Update:
Pay What You Can - Support How You Can

BLACK LIVES MATTER

Our original plan was to wind down our discount donation program at the start of June, but the past week has shown how very important it is for all of us to stand together and say enough - that the lives and rights of black people around the world are important and that we will not stand by and allow racism to prevail.

With that in mind we are continuing our Support How you Can discounts with donations going to our local Black Lives Matter's requested groups & to the Austin Justice Coalition through June.

May 18 Update:

While the Brooklyn Tweed's Apart Together has ended, we are still offering to Donate your Discount when you shop our newsletter sale yarns through the beginning of summer.

If you would like to continue to support local relief efforts with your purchase, be sure to subscribe to our newsletter or watch our facebook page for information on each weeks featured yarns.

At the beginning of the pandemic outbreak in the US, Brooklyn Tweed reached out to vendors to announce that they would be doing a special sale through May 15th – designed both to help those customers that are facing financial hardship, and to offer people a way to help support their local yarn shops who are under threat during this pandemic.

As a Brooklyn Tweed stockist we’ve been given the option of implementing this pricing structure in our store as well. We’ve been thinking of how best to do this the past few days.

At Hill Country Weavers, we are in the fortunate position of being a relatively established small business in our industry. While we expect the next few months to be a challenge, we’re not at risk of immediate suffering the way that many of our fellow Austinites are right now. We feel that it’s important to try and help our neighbors in any way possible and to pay forward this support.

With that in mind, we will be donating the equivalent percentage of sales, as well as any credited sales from the direct Brooklyn Tweed Apart Together initiative to an Austin based charity that is helping to provide food, health care and housing to those that are most severely affected in our community by this crisis.

When you place an order for any Brooklyn Tweed Yarns, please select the discount amount that you feel comfortable paying and use the indicated discount code when you checkout on our website:

No Code = Full Price
30% of the retail price of your yarn purchase will go to charity.
APARTTOGETHER10
20% of the retail price of your yarn purchase will go to charity.
APARTTOGETHER20
10% of the retail price of your yarn purchase will go to charity.
APARTTOGETHER30
5% of the retail price of your yarn purchase will go to charity.

We are offering this match with Brooklyn Tweed yarns through May 15th, but as the opportunity allows, we hope to be able to offer donation opportunities with other yarns. Please stay tuned to our newsletter and social media for more information.
