Decorating around the yoke of a sweater is a wonderful way to bring focus to the neck area. If you want to create designs for round yoke sweater, whether it’s your own pattern or modify an existing pattern with different motifs, this the a class for you. We will start with some basics of calculations to make round yoke sweater that fits well. All kinds of stitches can be used for a round yoke design, including colorwork, cables, or texture stitches. We will explore ways to use motifs, either from stitch dictionaries or your own, to create a design for a round yoke sweater.
Skill requirements – must know how to knit in round, some basics in either colorwork or texture stitches.
2 balls of Sport Weight yarn of different colors.
Size 4 needle (or change size needle to obtain gauge) to swatch in small rounds to obtain gauge of 22 stitches x 28 rounds in stockinette stitch. Note: Stitch gauge is more important than row/round gauge here.
Graph papers, pencils.
4 or more charts you want to work with, it can be your own or from a knitting dictionary (can be colorwork charts, texture stitches, or other singular motifs)
